The Queensland Government has delivered a new outdoor learning area (OLA) and refurbished learning spaces at Leichardt State School.
The new OLA features nature play areas and music play spaces, including new sandstone seating, artificial turf, shade sails, concrete paths, decorative metal screening, external stairs, landscaping and hard cover shade structures.
The new OLA provides the opportunity for students at Leichhardt State School to engage and learn in a natural outdoor environment, while catering to the different learning needs of all students.
This project has also delivered the conversion and refurbishment of the old preschool into 2 new specialist learning spaces, including new floor coverings, lighting ceiling fans, equitable access amenities an internal and external repaint.
These new facilities were delivered through the Queensland Government’s School Infrastructure Enhancement program to provide functional, fit-for-purpose and well-maintained school facilities that align with modern curriculum learning outcomes.
