Enhancing K–2 Continuity and Alignment Program
The Enhancing K–2 Continuity and Alignment Program is a blueprint for developing strong connections between kindergarten providers and schools.
The program focuses on a coordinated and cohesive approach to:
- aligning K–2 (Kindy to Year 2) priorities
- fostering shared responsibility for strengthening quality teaching and learning
- supporting greater collaboration between Early Childhood Education and Care services and schools to strengthen positive transitions to school.
Through building capability, leadership and continuity and alignment, Early Childhood Education and Care and state schools are working together to ensure the benefits of kindergarten carry over into school and beyond.

K–2 Enhancing Continuity and Alignment hub to explore how the program aims to foster shared understandings about early years priorities within the department and connect practice across the prior-to-school and school sectors.
