The We All Belong
Equity and Diversity Plan describes the actions being taken to increase workforce diversity and foster inclusive, equitable and culturally safe work environments within the department. It supports equity and excellence in schools by increasing teacher diversity to better reflect the students and communities we serve, resulting in better educational outcomes.
The plan uses a systems approach to change by focusing on areas of greatest impact for our workforce, such as recruitment, career progression, safety and wellbeing, and learning. Actions are drawn from the approved workforce strategies and the annual equity and diversity audit recommendations.
The workforce strategies are:
- Able (disability)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Many Cultures (culturally and linguistically diverse)
- Pathways to Parity (gender)
- Proud at Work (LGBTQ+).
The plan is reviewed and updated annually.
