Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination informationInformation for parents and carers, schools and early childhood education and care services (early childhood services) to create a COVID safe environment, maintain health and hygiene, vaccinations and face masks.

Confirmed case management

The Department of Education has established protocols in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a school. We will:

  • follow the advice of Queensland Health
  • work with the school community to minimise the impact of a confirmed case
  • ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of staff, students and visitors are prioritised.

If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a school community, the school may need to temporarily close.

Schools must report confirmed COVID-19 cases or any contact made by the Public Health Unit through existing reporting channels ( departmental employees only).

Queensland Health will advise schools when it is safe for them to reopen.
