Gary is an experienced system, education and school leader with more than 30 years' experience across the Department of Education.
Most recently, Gary led the establishment of the Metropolitan North education region helping to drive the delivery of high-quality educational outcomes for students. Prior to that he has undertaken roles as diverse as Assistant-Regional Director, Executive Policy Advisor in the Office of Director-General, Senior School Reviewer and as a teacher and principal at multiple rural, regional and metropolitan schools across Queensland.
A values-driven leader, Gary is known for bringing a sense of optimism and confidence to the teams he leads. He is a collaborative leader who enables the delivery of quality outcomes through the practical connection between a strong moral purpose for public education, clear strategy and enactment through to the classroom.
