The department is planning to deliver the Rockhampton Health Sciences Academy to fast-track local Year 10–12 students into health careers.
The Academy will work with industry, university and the existing network of schools to deliver pathways into health sciences and quality educational outcomes for students.
The Academy will include purpose-built facilities, including flexible simulation environments and innovative digital learning spaces.
Infrastructure planning has been undertaken, with the Academy progressing to the design phase shortly.
The department will share more information with the community when it is available.
