The department is planning a new, purpose-built learning campus for Mount Isa's QPSC to meet curriculum and extra-curricular needs. To be located on repurposed land at Healy State School, the development will be separate to the primary school, and is planned to open in Term 1 2025.

The Mount Isa QPSC campus will be located at the far end of the site, approximately 100 metres from the closest building and 190 metres from the main entrance at Healy State School. The proposed campus will have its own access and car park, and is not intended to impact Healy State School's operations once the campus has opened.

Community engagement

Members of the local community were invited to provide feedback about the new QPSC Mount Isa campus.

Consultation took place from Monday 26 August 2024 to Monday 9 September 2024, with a community pop-in information session held at Healy State School library 3.30–6.00pm on Wednesday 4 September 2024.
