Since 2025, key community members have collaborated with the Discrete Communities Infrastructure team to co-design a master plan and identify key projects for Western Cape College—Weipa Campus.
What may change at Western Cape College—Weipa Campus?
The outcomes we hope to achieve are:
- a master plan for Western Cape College—Weipa Campus
- a list of proposed projects, categorised into stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 potential projects.

Community engagement
Parents, carers and the local communities were invited to have their say on the draft master plan from Monday 20 July 2026 until Friday 21 August 2026.
Community engagement activities included:

- school newsletter article
- Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council social media posts
- face-to-face engagement sessions held:
- Wednesday 5 August 2026 at Weipa Junior Campus and Heritage Shopping Centre (Weipa)
- Thursday 6 August 2026 at Napranum IBIS Store and Ruchook Cultural Festival
All feedback received through community engagement is being considered by the project team.
