The department is delivering a range of upgrades to the facilities at Springfield Central State High School.
The development will provide the school with new and upgraded facilities to meet curriculum needs and, to provide a safe and comfortable environment, work will be delivered in stages to minimise disruption.
Current project scope (funded)
Stage 1
The works are scheduled to commence in late September 2025 and will include:
- upgrading the canteen and servery areas to streamline food purchases (Block D)
- a dedicated collection area for pre-ordered food (Block D)
- an upgraded home economics kitchen and a new composite junior/senior kitchen and cafe (Block D)
- sound proofing undercover eating areas (Block I).
Future stages (funded)
The works include:
- reconfiguring the library and adjacent classrooms to create a new library service desk, upgraded IT support area and learning spaces
- new basketball courts enhancing the current outdoor recreation areas
- extending existing industrial technology and design workshops and the provision of a new materials preparation area (Blocks C and H).
