​​​​​​​​​​​​The Office of Industrial Relations joined the Department of Education in December 2017, reporting to The Hon. Grace Grace MP, Minister for Education and Minister for Industrial Relations.

The Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) comprises of:

Office of Industrial Relations has offices in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Ipswich, Logan, Mackay, Maroochydore, Maryborough, Robina, Rockhampton, Roma, Toowoomba and Townsville.

The Office of Industrial Relations offers a range of advisory and compliance services and initiatives including:

  • targeted initiatives that engage with workers, business and the community to build safety and productivity
  • managing registration, licensing, certification and accreditation regimes for workplace and electrical safety, labour hire and workers’ compensation​​
  • developing legislative, compliance and enforcement frameworks.​​​
